KCF Academy Scholarships 2026:
Supporting the Next Generation of Chess Talents
The KCF Academy has announced its 2026 scholarship program, continuing its mission to
support talented young chess players from around the world. The program provides a well-
rounded training program with live lectures from chess stars to help promising juniors reach
their full potential.
Among the young players awarded a scholarship for KCF Academy 2026 is András Tóth
Ilkó from Hungary, one of the brightest rising stars in European youth chess.
András discovered chess at the age of seven and, remarkably, learned the game almost
entirely on his own by watching online videos. Within weeks, he was already beating his
family members, and soon after, won his first tournament at a summer training camp. His
natural talent and determination quickly became evident to coaches and fellow players alike.
By 2025, András had already achieved remarkable success: multiple Hungarian youth
championship titles, podium finishes at European Youth Championships in both rapid and
blitz, and strong performances representing Hungary on the first board of the U12 national
team. He is currently a member of the Maróczy Géza Central Youth Chess School and the
Tuxera Aquaprofit Nagykanizsa Chess Club.
Passionate, disciplined, and goal-driven, András is aiming to achieve the FIDE Master title
by 2026, with long-term ambitions of becoming an International Master. For him, chess is not
just a sport but also a form of self-expression — a way to challenge himself and grow.
The KCF Academy’s scholarship will provide him with invaluable resources and
opportunities on his path toward the international stage. With his dedication and talent,
András embodies exactly what the program seeks to nurture: the champions of tomorrow.
